These changes will be reflected in the library\'s <a href=\"http://www.utoledo.edu/library/mulford/pdf/pubmed.pdf\">Using PubMed</a> help sheet.</p><p>Here is a summary of the recent changes</p><p><strong>PubMed Home Page<br /></strong>The homepage will also include a link to the <a href=\"http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bookshelf/br.fcgi?book=helppubmed&part=pubmedhelp#pubmedhelp.Saving_citations_tem\">Clipboard</a> (to temporarily save citations) if citations have been add.</p><p><strong>Limits Related Changes<br /></strong>The <strong>Limits </strong>page is now available from a link above the search box on all PubMed pages, including the PubMed homepage.  Click <a href=\"http://www.nlm.nih.gov/pubs/techbull/jf10/jf10_pm_advanced_search.html\">here </a>for an illustration (Figure 1).  More information about <strong>Limits </strong>may be found through<a href=\"http://www.utoledo.edu/library/mulford/pdf/pubmed.pdf\"> Using PubMed </a>and <a href=\"http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bookshelf/br.fcgi?book=helppubmed&part=pubmedhelp#pubmedhelp.Limits\">PubMed Help &#8211; Limits</a>.</p><p><strong>Search results page<br /></strong>The <strong>Limits Activated</strong> message is now directly above the results summary line on search results, and under the search box on the homepage and <strong>Advanced Search page</strong>. Click <a href=\"http://www.nlm.nih.gov/pubs/techbull/jf10/jf10_pm_advanced_search.html\">here </a>for an illustration (Figure 3).<br />When one selects limits for a search, the limits will remain for any search in the same PubMed search session. The <strong>Limits Activated</strong> message is a good reminder of limits that are activated. The limits may be deactivated by clicking on the associated &#8220;Remove&#8221; button.</p><p><strong>Advanced Search </strong>(examples <a href=\"http://www.nlm.nih.gov/pubs/techbull/jf10/jf10_pm_advanced_search.html\">here</a> in figures 4, 5, and 6 )<br />**On the <strong>Advanced Search page</strong>, a <strong>Search Builder</strong>  replaces the Search <strong>by Author, Journal, Publication Date, and more</strong> and <strong>Index of Fields and Field Values</strong> sections. One may add search boxes by clicking on AND, OR, or NOT underneath the search box.</p><p>** The <strong>Limit by Topics, Languages, and Journal Groups section was r</strong>emoved — replaced by the new <strong>Limits </strong>page. The<strong> Limits</strong> page is accessible through any search results page (listing of citations) as well as the <strong>Change </strong>link in <strong>Limits Activated.</strong></p><p>**<strong>Publication date</strong> limits may be entered in either the<strong> Limits</strong> page or through <strong>Search Builder</strong>.</p><p><st..</p><p style=\"border-top: 1px solid #999; margin-bottom: 6px; padding-bottom: 5px\"><strong><a href=\"http://mulford.utoledo.edu/mblog/?p=1993\">&#8220;Article of the Future&#8221; recently launched by Elsevier</a></strong><br /><span style=\"color: #666\"><small><em>Monday, February 1, 2010</em></small></span><br /><p>by <a href=\"http://www.utoledo.edu/library/info/dir/jflahiff.html\">Janice Flahiff</a></p><p>Elsevier recently  announced that all research articles in its flagship collection of Cell Press journals will be published online in the new <em><strong>Article of the Future</strong></em>  format on <a href=\"http://www.cell.com/\">www.cell.com</a>.</p><p>The University of Toledo Libraries subscribes to eleven (11)  <a href=\"http://utmost.cl.utoledo.edu/search~S3/?searchtype=t&searcharg=cell+press+journals%7C&searchscope=3&sortdropdown=-&SORT=D&extended=0&searchlimits=&searchorigarg=tcell+press+journals%7C\">Cell Press journals</a>, including <a href=\"http://utmost.cl.utoledo.edu/record=b2941667~S3\">Cancer Cell </a>and <a href=\"http://utmost.cl.utoledo.edu/record=b2947470~S3\">Current Biology. </a><br />Each title is linked to both a subscription through <em>OhioLINK </em>and an archived based subsription through <em>Cell Pre</em>ss.|<br />The subscription through <em>OhioLINK</em> version does not include <strong><em>Article of the Future</em></strong>.<br />The subscription through  <em>Cell Press</em> only includes articles up to 1 year ago. It is unclear at this time if the<em> Cell Press</em> subscription will include the feature <strong><em>Article of the Future</em></strong>. Stay tuned for further developments!</p><p>However, <strong>In celebration of the launch and to encourage user feedback, Article of the Future articles are accessible for free for Cell Press’ flagship title, Cell, on External link <a href=\"http://www.cell.com\">www.cell.com</a>, for the first four issues of 2010. (These articles are also available through through any of the titles at the University of Toledo Libraries catalog item for <a href=\"http://utmost.cl.utoledo.edu/search~S3/?searchtype=t&searcharg=cell+press+journals%7C&searchscope=3&sortdropdown=-&SORT=D&extended=0&searchlimits=&searchorigarg=tcell+press+journals%7C\">Cell Press Journals</a>). </strong></p><p>Successful ideas from this project are planned to be rolled-out across Elsevier’s portfolio of 2,000 journals available on ScienceDirect, the world’s largest scientific, technical and medical database.</p><p>One of the key features of <em>Article of the Fut</em>ure functionality is a tabbed navigation structure through the Introduction, Results, Figures and Discussion sections.<br />Readers will also experience a graphical abstract and a highlights section on the landing page of each article, complimenting the abstract text by creating a quickly reviewable visual summary and bullet points. Lee</p><p>The Libraries are participating in a beta test of the <a href=\"http://0-infoweb.newsbank.com.carlson.utoledo.edu/?db=AWNB\" target=\"_blank\">Access World News: Research Collection</a> through the end of Spring Semester.  This is a total news product including news from over 5,000 sources in all media types, including  116 sources from Ohio.</p><p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><a href=\"http://0-infoweb.newsbank.com.carlson.utoledo.edu/?db=AWNB\" target=\"_blank\">Access World News: Research Collection</a>: </strong>Research current and archived news content for information on topics, events, issues, people, businesses, and more.
