RAP en las Plazas se lanzó en Montevideo: ¡éxito total!

El 23 de mayo RAP Montevideo llevó a cabo por primera vez una actividad "RAP en las Plazas", la cual se llevo a cabo en Plazoleta Viera. Este tipo de actividades ya se han realizado antes con éxito en varios departamentos del interior.

Estimamos que mas de 500 personas tuvieron acceso a las XOs (sin promediar a las personas que fueron a acompañar a los gurises tomando mate, porque ahí duplicaríamos el número!)

Hubo música, charlas, juegos, preguntas y respuestas, y fue una excelente oportunidad de reencuentro para los voluntarios de RAP!

Tuvimos la visita de varios medios de comunicación: TV, radio y diarios, los cuales hicieron sus reportajes a voluntarios y gente que acudió a conocer a la compu del Plan Ceibal.

Agradecemos a todos los voluntarios por darnos una mano en esta importante jornada y prestarnos sus mesas, sillas y paneles, como también a las empresas que colaboraron para que todo saliera 10 puntos: ANTEL (conectividad 3G- WIFI), IMM (limpieza y ordenamiento, bajada de luz al lugar), LATU (Plan Ceibal).

A las escuelas amigas de la zona que hicieron el comunicado a sus alumnos para que pasen a visitarnos.

A los vecinos de plazoleta por la paciencia, pues hubo mucha cantidad de gente en poco tiempo y algo de ruido.

A los medios de prensa que cubrieron el evento.

Nos volvemos a ver el Martes 26 de mayo en Plaza Cagancha y el Sabado 13 de junio en Curva de Maroñas!

117.000 manuales!!! RAP cumple

El 12 de junio culminará la entrega al LATU/Plan Ceibal de los 100.000 manuales creados por los voluntarios Annick y Franco en su versión actualizada. La primera entrega se realizará el 2 de junio.

Junto a los 17.000 ejemplares de la primera versión que ya se habían impreso suman 117.000 ejemplares. Todas las maestras del interior del país lo recibieron además de miles que distribuyó RAP en cursos y eventos.

Es bueno recordar que LATU/Plan Ceibal tomaron a este manual como manual oficial.

La financiación estuvo a cargo de IMPO.

A todos y a cada uno de los voluntarios, MUCHAS GRACIAS!!!!!

Esta vez, no quiero hacer distinciones departamentales, porque a veces involuntariamente, un comete omisiones relevantes.

Los aliento para continuar con el entusiasmo de siempre de ser parte de una red comprometida en el apoyo a los niños y familias que participan del Plan Ceibal. Sé que ésta ha sido oportunidad de incrementar el entusiasmo de los voluntarios de siempre y de contagiar el mismo a nuevos candidatos, ¡qué tengo entendido se han sumado en buena cantidad!!!

Es una gran alegría que red se enriquezca con nuevos aportes y se densifique con la incorporación de más recursos. Sin dudas, estamos aportando a un nuevo concepto de comunidad.

Is Everything Really Shiny & Bright in OLPC Uruguay?

It's an election year in Uruguay. Presidents cannot run for a consecutive term there, and Dr. Tabaré Vázquez, head of their first Socialist government in Uruguay, obviously wants the Proyecto Ceibal completed before he leaves office as a cornerstone of his legacy. Besides footnote-like Naui, Uruguay might still make it to become the first country in the world to actually deliver an XO to every single elementary-grade student.

I will let Dr. Vásquez paint the rosy stuff, and then you can then read the rest of this note for what he is not telling.

Dr. Tabaré Vázquez's laptop legacy

A major challenge for Ceibal, among several: the national telco monopoly, ANTEL, is not overly enthusiastic about free wireless internet. That is an understatement. Who will ANTEL get to pay their rates (4 times higher than in the US at 1/4 the GDP, thus 16 times more expensive than here!) when by using your kid's XO you get access for free?

They sort of went along when it was done in the countryside, where ANTEL connectivity was precarious anyway. Now Ceibal has mostly just Montevideo left to do. With over 50% of the population of Uruguay located there, this means a lot of potential income ANTEL will not get. ANTEL is extremely strong politically - imagine all the telcos and Internet providers in the US were as one, and spoke with one single voice...

Which brings up the matter of deploying in Montevideo, wisely left for last. At over 1.8 million people for the metroplex, it brings in the issues of urban living and contemporary mores. While community and family feel is still a quaint reminder of olden times in the Uruguayan countryside and small towns, Montevideo is noisy, impersonal, and has higher rates of all sorts of violent and nuisance crime and vandalism than the 'interior'. Gangs, drug use, and all the stuff that comes with "being cool in the city".

Doesn't look too good for a little kid walking with an XO. And if the experience so far in the next largest city in Uruguay, Salto, counts for anything, much higher rates of XOs damaged and broken is something to expect, 20% in some low income schools has been mentioned.

Which actually might not matter too much, since the goal as you can see from Dr. Vásquez' note, appears to be to "deliver" the XOs. When it comes to "use" the XOs, things are a bit less definite. There has been a lot of improvement in getting content for the XOs this year, which is good, but still not an apparent priority.

Design for learning doesn't show up much, there is scant connection with curricular needs: compare the detailed, extensive and utterly classroom-useless "why Math in the curriculum" with the very few actual materials to learn Math from, in the Ceibal site. Apparently over 16.000 queries have been received for the "how to create a blog" Ceibal page, though there seems to be only a few dozen of those so far.

And of course, as pointed out before, we are still missing real reports of educational impact, or actual educational use for that matter, or production - or lack thereof. Nice anecdotes, though.

In other news, some sort of software issue has blocked about 30.000 XOs in 4 "departamentos" more than a month ago, but that is being dealt with presently, mostly by volunteers, who, while not quite seen as full partners by Ceibal management, as in other places are expected to fix what goes wrong. They also see this as lemonade, for it should allow updating XOs to the latest build. Anyway, for Uruguayans it is our tradition few things get solved before Semana de Turismo (Easter)...

All in all, we admire the pluck, courage and steadfastness of the Uruguayan 'Garra Charrúa', which allows the rest of us to learn from someone else's mistakes. Things never are easy for the first one to take the plunge. It is to lament that Ceibal has so far refused to share information about challenges, maybe learning from OLPC Corporate, and follows the same policy of denial and infomercials.

Yet it is possible that, step by step, some XOs may actually end up benefiting at least a few kids and families, be they blessed by better giftings, or a dedicated teacher, or such random circumstance. And what they do release is CC open, so kudos for that!

We are not yet seeing a country quite pull itself by its bootstraps into the 21st century the OLPC way, yet those interested in copying Ceibal may care to contact them, for I am told they are preparing to offer international consulting services...

The dream lives on, and some flesh is getting attached to bone. We appreciate especially those who do the actual work, the volunteers, the community, the teachers who are striving, and let us all say, ¡fuerza, la celeste!

Sugar v0.84: Sugar on a Stick Review

So the new Sugar on a Stick v0.84 is out and I gave it a try on the XO, installing the suggested Windows XP version.

It is paramount to follow a few key actions:

Use the LiveUSBcreator version 3.6 or higher as older version are not XO-aware and will not work.
Do not boot a PC with the stick before you boot the XO.
If you use newer firmware (q2e30+) to hit esc after start and get to the OFW prompt and the type "boot" to boot. Otherwise SoaS will stay behind the boot animation and you will never see it!

SoaS on the XO boots really fast and you get to the familiar home screen, which is already populated with a number of applications. They all work. But be warned: you should not install SoaS as the main OS in your XO unless you are an experienced XO developer.

Noticeable Improvements

The immediately noticeable difference is the improved journal that now prompts for naming/renaming and addition of comments and tags for easier and more "logical" searches. Also allows you to choose with which application you open the file with (assuming that more than one can do it) and to send the file (assuming tat you have a properly configured machine).

The other nice thing is that if you open an application opens the last journal instance (assuming you did not rename it to something else), so you do not get 300 terminal entries... Of course if you want to save something eg a bookmark as a Browse entry, you have to rename it appropriately.

The other major change is under the hood. The full Fedora 10 foundation that allows for less complicated installation of mainstream Linux applications. Another nice feature is the "view source" option that allows you to see the code for any application and modify it if you want. It is similar to the Develop activity in but now is "just there".

Also a number of activities are updated to newer versions (that will not necessarily run under update 8.2, 8.2.1).

A Couple of Nuisances.

The microphone light is on and speakers do not work. To fix this, open the terminal type "alsamixer -V all" and mute (type "m") V-REFOUT (mic light) and External (speakers!). Also the XO will not shutdown. It goes to "system halted" and stays there. To really shut the XO down, just press the power button for 3 sec.

SoaS is totally unaware of the XO-hardware. Besides the two little things above, game buttons will not work (only the "O" game button will get you to Journal!) and many function buttons will not work (journal, screen brightness, frame button). The battery monitor will not work (just shows the initial level and never updates). The camera will not work (even if you install the not-included Record activity).

The SDcard and USB are not detected and if you mount them manually they do not show in the Journal. There is no power management (and the relevant control panel) and no software update panel. Some old activities will not work (but that's the activity developer's job I guess). Your hacks are likely not to work (at least till you find the right paths and still then is not certain).

So unless you are ready for a lot of tinkering or development, keep Sugar on the stick.

The major goal of Sugar 0.84.x is testing and developing. That's what you should do with it. It is clear that the XO was not at all on the scope of Sugar Labs at this stage. Being the first SoaS version the apparent goal was basic functionality and broad implementation.

Suggested Enhancements

The only feature that I think should be included in 0.84+ enhancements is the ability to use an XO-aware stick to boot a PC (mine stuck at eth1 configuration and then messed up the XO network settings). This is not possible with the current version of SoaS/LiveUSBcreator. Implementation will make work a bit easier for developers and certainly "allow the parents to see what their kid is doing" with their SoaS on another computer.

Now, it would be great if someone develops packages that you could just "yum install" and regain XO functionality. Should not be very difficult. The key bindings and battery monitor would be a good start, and camera (or a compatible version of Record activity) should follow soon after.

Till then I can only hope that Sugar 0.84+, among other things, will also be XO-aware. Hopefully, Sugar Labs will not do the same to the XO as OLPC did. OLPC abandoned Sugar development on the XO and although you can find ways to justify or explain it, it did not resonated very well.

Similarly one can think of reasons to justify or explain Sugar Labs not developing for the XO but this will be equally bad. If nothing else there is almost a million KIDS with an XO out there. They deserve better.

I'm not suggesting that SugarLabs will stop developing Sugar for the XO, I'm just saying that since current actions do not contradict it, I would like at least to see the opposite statement in black and white somewhere.

Unless, if we are to believe that they also think that "dual boot" Windows XP should be the way to go on the millions of XOs out there. I hope not

Turtle Art for Sugar Learning Platform v0.84

One of the nice things about free software projects is that anyone can scratch an itch. I had been doing a lot of scratching over the past three months, ever since Brian Silverman asked me to become the maintainer of the Turtle Art Activity. The release of Sugar 0.84 gave me a target to aim for and I was able to make enough progress that Turtle Art is now included as part of Fructose, the default set of Activities distributed with Sugar. (I had more than a little help from my friends - another benefit of FOSS.)

About Turtle Art

A bit of background: Turtle Art is one in a long series of Logo environments designed and built by Brian Silverman. Brian is largely responsible for successful learning tools such the software interface to Lego Mindstorms and the Microworlds version of Logo.

Brian had originally written Turtle Art in Java as a warm-up exercise for Scratch, another "snap-together-blocks" programming environment. When we began developing Sugar, Brian rewrote Turtle Art in Python; it was one of the original Sugar Activities and it remains popular with teachers and students. (Brian still maintains the Java version).

The first itch was one that I caught from some teachers in Uruguay. They wanted a square-root block for teaching the Pythagorean theorem. My initial response to their request was to challenge them to scratch their own itch by adding the new block themselves.

But looking into it more deeply, I released that adding a new block to the user interface (UI) was too complex for the novice programmer. This and several other problems - keeping pace with localization efforts and making Turtle Art scale properly to variable-sized displays - led me to scratch an itch of my own: rebasing Turtle Art graphics on SVG.

Out of control. Still driven in large part by requests coming in from teachers, I added named variables and subroutines (with help from Luis Michelena), a program stack, rich media objects, et al. And I made changes to the UI, notably adding toolbars to keep it more in line with the current look and feel of Sugar. And of course, I felt obliged to add collaboration - a sharable canvas.

Expanding Turtle Art Programming

I came back to the questions that got me scratching in the first place: how can I make it easier for students and teachers to make their own modifications? And can an introduction to programming with a very restricted grammar be a launching pad for engaging more deeply?

Tony Forster, an educator and engineer from Australia, had been paralleling my efforts, offering feedback and critique along the way. He inspired me to extend Turtle Art along several different dimensions:

adding a way of importing Turtle Art projects into a text-based Logo environment;
adding in-line programmable blocks; and
adding extension blocks that can be programmed in Python and imported into Turtle Art.

Tomeu Vizoso had added "universal view source" to Sugar; my goal was to add some intermediary steps between programming in Turtle Art and programming Turtle Art.

I had another itch I had been wanting to scratch: Sugar was lacking a simple presentation tool. I had a "hammer" in Turtle Art and this problem looked like "a nail." So for something to do on the way to LCA - I had a 36-hour a series of flights from Boston to Hobart - I added a palette to Turtle Art with blocks that lets one program a slide show.

Individual blocks are used to create slides from content - pictures, text, sounds - retrieved from the Sugar Journal. The slide show itself, along with any embellishments, such as a progress bar or animated slide transition, are programmed in Turtle Art.

In creating a presentation in Turtle Art, children build upon their Journals (where every action or activity a is automatically recorded). They are able to select important learning achievements and answer questions such as "I chose this piece because..."

They create multimedia narratives from their selections (including audio voice-overs and video) and they can share their presentation with classmates, both to celebrate what they have learned, but also to engage in a critical dialog about their work. I added a means to export to HTML so that the presentations can be shared outside of the context of Sugar. On my next long flight, I'll add export to ODP too.

I am hopeful that a Turtle Art presentation can be used as an assessment tool that shows "what a child knows"; leveraging their Journals, children will become the curators of their own work. They will advance their own learning and help their teachers, parents, and school administrators understand better the depth and breadth of what they have learned.

Atención a la pregunta frecuente Nº 77 del Portal de Ceibal

77. Cuando prendo la laptop aparece el símbolo de la XO y se queda trancada. No aparecen los círculos alrededor del símbolo

Es un problema que puede aparecer en las últimas máquinas que se entregaron. Para resolverlo hay que actualizar el firmware.

Para actualizar el firmware, hay que bajar este archivo: http://www.ceibal.edu.uy/portal/images/stories/firmware_q2e18.zip y descomprimirlo en un pendrive.

El mismo contiene un archivo llamado 'bootfw.zip' dentro de una carpeta 'boot'. Conectar el pendrive a la XO con la batería conectada y con el cargador enchufado. Encender la XO. Van a aparecer algunos números en la pantalla indicando que se está actualizando el firmware.

NO DESCONECTAR LA LAPTOP DURANTE LA ACTUALIZACIÓN.

Luego de unos segundos, la máquina se reinicia y ya se puede retirar el pendrive.

Si el firmware no se actualiza, puede ser por lo siguiente:

- No está el archivo 'bootfw.zip' dentro de una carpeta 'boot' en el pendrive. Verificar que se copió correctamente.
- Si el archivo está en el pendrive, entonces puede ser que el firmware ya esté actualizado. Llamar al 0800-CEIBAL para reclamar la falla.

Charla "Obrero del conocimiento 2.0: estudiantes en el siglo XXI"

Desde el 12 al 14 de Marzo se desarrollaron en la intendencia municipal de Montevideo las IV Jornadas de Educación y TIC: "La XO una herramienta para apropiarse de la tecnología".

Allí tuve oportunidad de presentar la charla "Obrero del conocimiento 2.0: estudiantes en el siglo XXI" donde expuse ideas y reflexiones sobre el perfil del estudiante en el siglo XXI y los desafíos y oportunidades que ello supone para el ambiente educativo.

Announcing Sugar Learning Platform v0.84

Fresh off the Sugar Labs press release is a new version of the Sugar Learning Platform for children. Sugar v0.84 represents the expansion of Sugar beyond the XO-1 - it is packaged in GNU/Linux distributions, it runs under virtualization on Macs, and most of all, its a big step in getting closer to Sugar on a Stick which will boot those older classroom Windows PCs and newer netbooks.

Wondering what might be different about v0.84? Well the Sugar Labs leader Walter Bender says that this new Sugar Learning Platform has:

I say that Sugar has amazing reach. Just with the XO laptop, almost one-million students aged 5 to12 in over 40 countries and 26 languages are "learning learning" every school day. And with v0.84 we're about to see a jump in Sugar Learning Platform adoption through Sugar on a Stick.

Sugar on a Stick v1.0, a liveUSB, is scheduled for release in Q3 2009, which means that Sugar can run from a simple USB memory stick on nearly any recent Windows or Mac computer, and most older PCs as well. The OLPC Learning Club DC already found SoaS is blazing fast on netbooks.

IV Jornadas de Educación y TIC – Un día después

Es mucho lo que se podría escribir sobre lo que pasó los últimos tres días, durante las IV Jornadas de Educación y TIC, desarrolladas en la Intendencia Municipal de Montevideo, los días 12, 13 y 14 de marzo de 2009.

Y seguramente en unos pocos días podamos subir una evaluación de las mismas. Tenemos 350 formularios de evaluación para procesar y fueron entregadas también 350 constancias de asistencia, la condición para recibir la constancia ( luego de entregar la hoja de evaluación ) era que se hubiera participado, en al menos dos, de los tres días de las Jornadas. Todavía no hemos procesado la información del formulario, compuesto por casillas para marcar. Pero si les dejo acá un escaneo en formato PDF de comentarios dejados, tomados al azar de las aproximadamente 150 fichas donde los asistentes dejaron comentarios al reverso de la hoja. Algunos docentes dejaron su número de teléfono y/o correo electrónico ofreciéndose a colaborar, al escanear eliminamos esos datos para evitarles spam.

Tuvimos problemas, como siempre ocurre, cuando se organiza algo con tanta gente. Uno de los principales fue que se dañó el sistema de aire acondicionado, en las hojas de evaluación, vistas a vuelo de pájaro, unos cuantos plantearon el tema del calor. En cuanto el problema fue detectado la IMM llamó al servicio de reparación y por temas técnicos, repuestos, etc, nos dijeron que no se podía hacer nada hasta el lunes, nos consta que pusieron todo su empeño en solucionar el tema.
También tuvimos un gran apoyo del área de informática de la IMM. Y fue gracias a la IMM que las IV Jornadas pudieron realizarse, concretamente gracias a la Secretaría de Infancia de la Intendencia Municipal de Montevideo que nos brindó el uso de las instalaciones sin costo alguno. Así que vaya nuestro gran agradecimiento al Intendente de Montevideo y todo su equipo. También al personal de las salas que trabajó con nosotros el jueves de 17 a 21 horas y viernes y sábado de 9 a las 21 horas, más el tiempo necesario para desmontar toda la infraestructura.

Una de las cosas que decidimos hacer en estas Jornadas, es elaborar un video del taller de Etoys brindado por Lino Bessonart, en el cual van a trabajar los integrantes de la asignatura Lenguaje Audiovisual de Ciencias de la Comunicación, la grabación ya fue realizada a dos cámaras por Varenka Parentelli y Marcos Elgue, en breve (ya nos vamos a reunir con Lino) vamos a comenzar la edición del material en conjunto con él. La idea es subirlo luego al portal de CEIBAL y a otros sitos web.

También estamos pensando realizar una jornadas intra-equipo docente para poner cosas en común y definir pautas de trabajo.

En general las evaluaciones, han sido muy positivas y nos van a servir para afinar cosas, en esta oportunidad tal vez cargamos demasiado el programa con muchas propuestas y eso quitó tiempo a algunos talleres que consideramos importantes, como el de Python por ejemplo. Son cosas a ir ajustando.

Pero si pensamos que hace dos semanas no teníamos local para hacerlas (por la rotura del techo del salón principal de Ciencias de la Comunicación, donde estaban pensadas en un principio) y luego fueron una realidad, creo que hemos demostrado que trabajando en conjunto con la gente de RAP CEIBAL, CEIBAL Jam, Montevideo Libre, CLD, UYLUG, los Centros MEC y el equipo inicial de las Jornadas, el núcleo de las mismas, los que han aportado en todos los programas (Diego Roselli, Rodolfo Pilas, Federico Wagner, Néstor Flaquer y Graciela Barreto) es poco lo que no podemos solucionar. Mención aparte merece en este caso el gran apoyo en la organización de José Mignone y Mariana Herrera que estuvieron los tres días al pie del cañón. Tuvimos también el apoyo del LATU quien nos prestó todos los equipos necesarios para que la gente de Montevideo Libre pudiera realizar la instalación de la red. Por otra parte es importante destacar que el apoyo de ANTEL, fue fundamental, en un día, nuestra empresa, la empresa de todos los uruguayos, nos instaló un ADSL de 2 mega simétricos para poder brindar conectividad durante el evento. Si en algunos momentos hubo problemas de conexión no fue por ANTEL sino por la saturación que se producía de los puntos de acceso por la gran cantidad de máquinas conectadas al mismo tiempo.

Ese es otro tema que va a empezar a estudiar la gente de Montevideo Libre, como optimizar la utilización de los WAP para lograr la mejor conectividad para las XO. Las jornadas también sirven como ejercicio de apropiación tecnológica.

Brasil, México y Uruguay ganaron premios excelGOB

Los premios a la excelencia en gobierno electrónico en América Latina y el Caribe, excelGOB, fueron entregados por el Secretario General de la OEA, José Miguel Insulza, el jueves 5.

Los galardonados fueron:

Centros CASI y CEIBAL

El 20 de marzo en la escuela nº 44 de Egaña (Soriano) se realizará el "Primer Intercambio de Conocimiento sobre el manejo de las computadoras XO".
Este encuentro es organizado por el CASI y participarán los maestros de la escuela nº 44 de Egaña, Escuela nº 48 de Risso, escuela Rural nº 55 de Corralito, escuela Rural nº 82 Paraje Bizcocho y funcionarios del Centro de Acceso a la Sociedad de la Información de Egaña.
En dicha jornada se hará presente el Sr. Juan Carlos Sandin, (Coordinador del los Centros CASI de Rivera, Web Master de la Red USI y voluntario de la Red Ceibal) y Sr. Pablo Aguiar (Coordinador de los Centros CASI de Soriano, Voluntario do la Red USI).
La intención de dicha jornada es introducir el manejo didáctico de las computadoras del plan Ceibal junto a lo curricular del año lectivo.

A los logros ya alcanzados por RAP Ceibal -nuestra dinámica red de voluntarios que apoya decididamente al Plan Ceibal desde comienzos del 2008- se suma la edición de un manual de uso de las XO cuyo contenido fuera creado por dos jóvenes raperos Annick Peter y Franco Lagala (la fotografía fue tomada en el reciente Encuentro Nacional de Voluntarios) y que hoy gracias al apoyo de IMPO, entidad que estuvo a cargo de la impresión y producción, el MEC y el CEP, está siendo distribuído en todo el país a partir de los primeros días de marzo de modo que llegue a todos los maestros con la finalidad de aportar un elemento importante de apoyo para lograr el mejor uso de las laptops que el Plan Ceibal entrega a cada niño y maestro de las escuelas públicas del Uruguay.

El responsable del diseño fue Marcelo Caiafa quien concibió un formato que imita al de la propia XO. Para la impresión de estos manuales -que vienen siendo muy bien recibidos por los maestros-se emplearon los mejores materiales disponibles de modo de optimizar su utilidad y durabilidad. El número total de manuales impresos es de 17.000.

El manual se encuentra disponible además en su versión digital, descargable y copiable en forma gratuita, desde la sección de materiales del sitio web de RAP. La última versión, de marzo de 2009, recoge las actualizaciones del software instalado en las XO que se entregan este año, tanto a nivel de mejoras en el manejo como en la traducción de los programas al español.

¿Se borraron las Actividades en tu XO?

No desesperes! Varios voluntarios RAP nos pasan propuestas de solución. El link a la página OLPC donde hay actividades (las usuales, y muchas otras... ¡incluyendo una creada por un voluntario uruguayo!) aparece en nuestra columna de links, a la derecha. Además, en "documentos de apoyo a voluntarios" encontrarás un instructivo de cómo hacerlo, preparado por el voluntario Carlos Rabassa.

Aquí transcribimos una "receta" algo más compleja pero que puede servir para alguien que quiera tener un mecanismo a mano, muy ágil, para reinstalar las actividades en muchas XO.

Hay una manera muy facil para instalar un actividad en varias maquinas con un pendrive. Esta en la wiki y de ahi lo saque.

En una computadora pueden hacer eso:

- Formatear el pendrive en FAT. (pregunten y vemos como es.. muy facil)

- Descargar el archivo ZIP siguiente:

- Descomprimir el archivo en el pendrive.

Les genera 2 carpetas, una que se llama BOOT y otra BUNDLES

- Bajar las actividades de http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Activities/All y las copian a la carpeta BUNDLES. (cuando bajan la actividad, bajan un archivo .xo)

- Con la XO apagada conectan el pendrive.

Prenden la XO... carga unos segundos y se apaga.

Sacan el pendrive y prenden la XO.

Listo! tiene las actividades instaladas.

Probe hacerlo hasta con 8 actividades y se instalan sin problemas. Podriamos cargarle las activades basicas y tener pendrives listos para eso. Es muy rapido la instalacion.

Se podrian poner todas las actividades que traen las XO por defecto ya que si esta la actividad instalada.. no pasa nada si la reinstalas.
