STOLEN GUITARS RECOVERED IN TIME FOR TOUR

The five guitars that were stolen from Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers last week have been recovered by the Culver City Police Department. The instruments, which were reported missing last Friday were swiped from the band's tour production rehearsal studio in Culver City, CA.
The LA Times reports that an arrest has been made in connection with the theft. Daryl Emmette Washington, 51, of Los Angeles, a former private security guard at the Culver Studios complex, was apprehended yesterday after a tip that he pawned one of the guitars for a mere $250 (the collection is valued at more than $100,000). The guitars have been returned to their rightful owners just in time for their tour which kicks off tonight in Broomfield, CO.
In a statement posted on his website Petty said, "I am extremely grateful to the Culver City Police Department for a job well done and touched by the outpouring of good wishes and concern from our fans and friends."

DAVE GROHL RELEASES SOUND CITY DOC TRAILER

Fresh off five Grammy wins, Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters has released the trailer for his upcoming documentary Sound City. The film, about the famous L.A. recording studio of the same name, includes interviews and appearances by Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, Cheap Trick Lars Ulrich, and Rick Springfield, among others.
