Earlier in the trip we were able to see Pastor Jane Chusi. Today we met with her son Nelson, who translated for us in 2008! Nelson works for Vodacom, a large telecommunications company. When we found out that Richard is an artist with a shop in the local woodcarver’s market, we decided to stop there rather than shop in Dar es Salaam. This morning we hired a guide who took us on a walking tour of parts of Bagamoyo. We saw a number of buildings that were built by Germans, and saw beautiful carved doors with Arab and Indian influence.
