Win a PhotoStage at FootWear Expo 2009

PhotoStage, the acclaimed photo studio from AMS, will be one of the grand prizes in the Flickr Photo Contest for SL FootWear Expo 2009.

Anyone may enter the Flickr Photo Contest, with as many pictures as they like, wearing any shoes that they like. To be eligible, shoes must be the focus of photo, and the image should reflect the Footwear Expo’s overall theme of Winter Wonderland. You can find all the DETAILS HERE !

Its been a long week, and we're getting closer and closer to the end of the year. I can't believe its been another year in life and in Second Life.

I found some great stuff to share this week.

Hola! What came to my mind is that when you are in a blue mood, how do you help yourself dump away the blue feeling? I always eat sweet deserts such as cake, candies, and so on to help me feel better. How about you? I’d love to know YOUR ways of releasing bad feelings.

As I said in my previous post, Annyka Bekkers of Blowpop very recently released a bunch of new items, and instead of putting everything all in one giant post, I want to savor each pretty

Today I want to talk about Cassie! The Cassie Low-rise Boyshorts & Bra set, that is. Click on the images to see larger versions:

The texturing on this set is gorgeous. Yes, it may all be virtual, but you can almost *feel* how soft and comfy these bra and panty sets are! The shading and highlighting are perfect, accentuating curves in all the right places. I really like the light shading right at the band above the ribcage area, which gives the bra a nice three-dimensional feel.

Cassie sets are available in a lot of delicious colors, and they all look fantastic. I also think these babies are a great bargain at the price they’re set, and I totally say go for the fatpack! That way you get to mix and match the colors, too, which is fun I own a lot of underwear, swimwear, and lingerie because I like to use these types of items in my shape ads for my store, and just based on my own personal consumer experience I’d have to say Annyka is arguably one of the best designers you’ll find on the grid right now, period. Seriously. I love her stuff.

The knit button boots I’m wearing in these shots are from a Japanese designer named Masami Niekerk. I’d actually found her boots by accident while browsing mindlessly through Xstreet. The boots are loaded with texture change options and walking sounds. I’m actually not a fan of shoes with sounds, but I loved all the sweet color options and it was only 10L! Speaking of Xstreet, I’m kind of sad about the impending changes that will be made to that site. I realize Linden Lab wants to create a marketplace that isn’t so cluttered, but once these new fees go into effect I sincerely doubt we’re going to find these sorts of gems anymore.

I’m also using LAQ’s latest Glow Skin release, Drew. Drew was actually an original Portrait Skin line face, but Mallory Cowen has given her the Glow [...]

These seaman jeans are so fun, they can be dressed up or worn casual. Reminds me of the sailors I used to see all the time when I lived on base *drools* I just love these pants! These "Nipply" tops are also freaking hot! They have built in nippys as you can see and soo many layers/options to wear it.

Joint Couple Post: Jenny and Shane.

From now until the end of the year, each week Shane and I are going to take a famous couple (whether it’s fictional or not) , go off of their style, and incorporate it into our own for a joint post. Five months ago (I can’t believe this has only been going on for five months), Shane and I were searching for names for our new blog we were working on. We tried EVERYTHING when all of a sudden the name Les Girls spoke to us. It made sense at the time. We’re a couple both IRL and in SL and like most of our bisexual and lesbian friends, we would watch and discuss a show called The L Word. At the time when the show was first on, it was innovative. It was special. I’ve never seen a show that portrayed lesbian and bisexuals in such a way before. We were lawyers, writers, athletes, in the corporate world, everywhere. For me personally, the L word gave me the ability to accept myself for who I am and not be ashamed to love anyone whether it’s a male or female. It made me realize I’m not the only one out there and it is OK to be myself and love myself. The L Word meant something to us and thus Les Girls was a perfect name to give back in a way to a show that gave to us. Jennifer Schecter and Shane McCutcheon are two of our favorites. Despite the terrible ending, Shenny was a great testimony of friendship. And so for our first couple try if you will, Shane and I are going to attempt to bring Shenny back in a positive light and ignore the whole Jenny dying thing.

Shane says:
At one point, The L Word was deemed to be the change of television. I can’t lie, having gorgeous women on screen who fucked other women instead of overweight bulldogs was an exciting step for the LGBT community. No, it really was. As the years went on, the dialog got worse, the storylines became abysmal and far too many characters were created to fill the void of the biggest mistake in the writers’ professional lives. Throughout, Jenny Schecter was my favourite character. I hated her, but she was my favourite because of that, since I had slim to no opinion on a lot of the others. (What the hell were Mark or Max?) In season 2, Jenny was teamed up with Shane for what is deemed one of the best friendships for the series, and in season 6 that led to them getting together via the most ridiculous reasoning ever – Shane didn’t want to hurt Jenny. Don’t get me wrong, I was probably one of the only people who understood where Shane was coming from with it, but the relationship was too much too soon, and culminated in the pointless puzzle of Who Killed Jenny? All that said, their friendship was true, based on the both of them being as fucked up as each other, never striving for perfection. Team Shenny.
